  • Founder

I still remember my first banana seat bicycle, then my first red Ross 12-speed. My first major purchase was a Trek from money earned from my first venture: CB’s Lawn Service.

As a kid, biking gave me a unique sense of freedom and independence I had never felt. It was a treasured feeling that I maintain to this day.

That said, I have come to realize biking has an accessibility and diversity problem and became inspired to help. At C4S, we want to share the gift of riding and passionately believe kids from ALL backgrounds would enjoy the fitness, freedom, fellowship, and fun of being on a bike in the woods. And this exposure will build character and uncover untapped talents that will shatter myths and break barriers. Let’s Ride!

  • Rider Enablement

I still just want to ride on the dirt like I did when I was a little squirt. Riding got into my bones as a kid jumping dirt ramps in the neighborhood woods in East Winston-Salem. Sharing and helping others experience the joy of riding in the woods is now a passion. Happy trails!

  • Community Outreach

I never initially thought of mountain biking as a mission, but I always felt early on it was important to instill the love for the ride with my family. It’s part connecting as a family and to nature as well as part adrenalin. Plus, I always leave the trail feeling better about myself, my co-riders, and the world around me.

I am honored to give some of that karma back and help expose a broader group to something that may initially feel a bit out of their comfort zone but becomes a life-long activity.

I am excited to be part of the C4S team and for all the future riders we have a chance to share the experience with.

  • Community Partner

My passion for bikes came late in life, first as a necessity for transport and then as a means of exploration and building self-confidence. I learned how to ride a bike when I was 14.

Today, I see the bicycle as a critical tool for physical, mental, and social change. Bicycles not only teach us respect and presence, they connect us to people, landscapes and community.

As the director of Trips For Kids Charlotte and the Charlotte Re-Cyclery, I have had the privilege to share my passion for bikes with youth and community members throughout the city. I am excited to support Cycle 4 Success' mission to engage youth with the joys of Mountain Biking.

I hope to catch you on the trails!

  • I've been in love with riding bikes my whole life. Since I was old enough to reach the pedals of a neighbor's 10 speed (but not while actually sitting on the seat) I've been riding everything on 2 wheels.

Fast forward almost 30 years, I am the proud father of a very athletic 14 year old daughter, Matilda who I've been coaching since she was 6.

Summer 2018 marked the beginning of a new chapter and going "all-in" to turn my passion for mountain biking into a full-time job by launching CLTMTB.

I look forward to meeting you, helping you become a better rider, and having a lot of fun. See you on the trail!
